REAL EXAMPLE OF HOW TO DEAL WITH SCHOOL COUNSELOR
ANSWER
For Student A and Student AA coming in on 02/01/2011, they will be late and will struggle in getting up to date. Our ESL program is one that addresses limited English proficiency and would have been able to work with these students. Spring Semester begins 01/03/2011, coming in a month later is too late. They need to be here by 01/03/2011 or they should consider come in during the summer or for Fall Semester which begins about August 15th. For Student B I completely understand his situation. I suggest if his mother is not better and not able to leave and be here on 09/17/2010, he consider being here in December in time for the Spring Semester. What ever the case, all these students must remain in school and when they get here they must have their final transcript grades from there current school, otherwise they might need to repeat their previous grade level. Student C will need to find me on first day of school, and get all her paperwork completed, but she must also be ready for school in full uniform, if not, she will need to get it as soon as she can, Tuesday afternoon or morning would be okay. I suggest her come in on Monday, take the SLEP exam, stay in school the remainder of the day, then go to Dennis Uniform on Tuesday morning or afternoon to get uniform. Be in full uniform on Wednesday morning. We can work that out on Monday. Any questions, please let me know. Carl |
